As you are traveling through the Kya Ibii Forest, you stumble upon a huge clearing. You are periodically blinded by the bright sunlight, after exploring the dark forest, but when your eyes adjust to the light, you admire the beauty of this grassy plain.
There are trees scattered all over. Some of them carry a blue fruit, striped like a watermelon, though the size and shape of a pomagranate. Another type of tree catches your eye. They have small white flowers, and leaves the shape of a maple leaf, though much smaller, with the texture of a shiny leather. There are also your average trees: elm, birch, and pine.
You reach a little brook. You hadn't even seen it, so you fall in. The water is very cold. But you don't get very wet. There are smooth rocks at the bottom, and you can see some tiny fish swimming around... The water is extremely clear. As you look into it, you see the reflexion of one of those blue fruits in a tree behind you. You decide it looks delicious and delicately pick it off the branch. As you bite in, a bitter taste fills your mouth. You spit it out quickly.
'You're not s'posed to eat the skin!' a male, but equine voice says from behind you.
"Huh?" You look around. Nothing. You hear a the sound of hooves on bark, then on dirt. Then you see him. He's a beatiful rakish stallion with beautiful green eyes, an orangish mane and yellow spots. 'You're not s'posed to eat the skin,' he snickers.
"Oh." you peel it off, and it splits into pieces, but has the texture of a peach. It tastes like a banana-peach-grape. It's good... 'I'm Sett'Romi'Ioku. That means Fly Without Wings. Call me Fly.' He watches a leaf fall. 'I'm a rakish.' he grins at you.
Another rakish with a red mane, and a blue coat trots up, snorting, and rears.
-Hello.- he bows. -I am Hariko'Caal, Uranus Darkness. We both come from The Lands Of Fate...- he continues out. -Cloud won DragonFlight's contest! That's why I am here.-
'Wasn't worth the trouble if you ask me...' Fly blurts out.
-Then there was another batch of younglings, so she adopted Fly.- he glares at the yellow rakish. -Could've done without if you ask me... But they are cute...-
'I am *not* cute!' Fly screams and pouts, then smiles. 'I'm adorable. And I'm not a little foal anymore...' he raises an eyebrow.
-Sure you are. People just can't tell until you open your mouth...- he runs, and you expect Fly to chase after him, but he justs lays down calmly and looks in Hariko's direction quizzically.
'We each have gifts. His are Ice and Water, mine are Air and Mystery. Fly tells you.'
-Though we can't tell.-
Fly ignores him, and you don't really get it. 'Mine basically mean that for Air, I just do not get angry, and for Mystery, you can be with me for a million years, and still not know who I am in my heart....' he laughs. 'That sounds mysterious...'
-Oo.- says Hariko mockingly, leaning against a tree. -Mine mean that for Water, I'm very imaginative and sensitive, and that I'm a storyteller, though I havn't develloped that much. The ice means that I love snow in crystal, and I have problems in dealing with big changes. But I haven't experienced that yet.-
'Sure, Kiko...'
-Don't call me Kiko! Lei calls me that!-
'I *like* Enenlei!
-That's 'cause you don't have to babysit her, and have her bite your neck because she's pretending to be a vampire!- Hariko whimpers.
'And that is precisely why I call you that...' Fly grins, then turns to you again. 'One of the things we love doing is dancing. I really couldn't beleive he didn't have the gift of Dance. Dance a little, Kik?'
Hariko starts dancing right away. He sways and jumps, and runs and over. It's a beautiful sight... He runs until you lose him from sight. Fly laughs. 'He'll come back in awhile... When he finds a song he doesn't like...'
"What song?"
'The song of the leaves in the trees, the song of the water in the brook. Naiye taught us to listen, though me and ND thought she was evil...'
"ND?"
'Yea, he's my best friend. His name is Nature Dancer, but we call him ND for short. We have a fun time at the orchard! It's awesome! We get together with all the foals we grew up with and stuff... It's so cool!' he neighs, bucks and laughs. 'You want a hani?'
he hits the tree with his head, and two come tumbling down. You pick one up, still finding it hard to beleive that he's a... well... a stallion! And not a little foal.
You pick one up. "What are they called?"
'Oh... Haner. A hani. The haner.' he starts eating again.
You eat another one, and have a refreshing drink in the stream. Fly splashes you as he tries to catch a fish. 'ACK! It bit me! That cute little fishy bit me!' he screams, then starts stomping the water. BAD FISHY!
You laugh and leave him to fish as you travel deeper into the clearing. You come to a completely open space. The grass is even fresher, and you feel an urge to run. Run with us! Fly screams. Hariko urges you to get on his back. You hold on to his mane, and he runs like you've never seen... Then, you hear chirping above you. A little bird, rainbow in color, is bringing you a rose. You gladly take it, and stroke the bird, while galloping on (whoa! You're pretty good!)... He chirps, and flies away...
